Would you like to tuft again, but don't have the materials at home? Do you have a tufting project lying around that you've been meaning to finish? Or do you simply want to spend a whole day working on your own design among other tufters?

On Monday, December 7th from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the Tufting Stuff workshop space in Nieuwegein will be open as an Open Tuft Studio.

You book your own tufting workstation and work independently on whatever you want to create. Start a new rug or wall hanging, bring an existing tufting project, trim your rug, or use the day to calmly finish your project.

No workshop. No fixed program. Just enjoyable tufting.

Open Tuft Studio workstation from €24.50

A workstation in the Open Tuft Studio costs €24.50 for this evening. This gives you access to your tufting workstation from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The following is included as standard with a workstation:

• a tufting frame
• tufting fabric for one project up to a maximum of 50 × 60 cm
• trimmers
• duckbill scissors
• threaders
• markers to draw your design
• Coffee and tea are free (other snacks and drinks can be paid for via QR code)

Bring your own tufting gun or use ours

Do you have your own tufting gun? Feel free to bring it. Don't have your own machine, or want to use other machines, such as the loop pile machine or the high pile tufting gun? For an extra €5, you can use the available Tufting Stuff tufting guns during the Open Tuft Studio.

Bring your own yarn or choose from our yarn stock

You decide what you prefer when it comes to yarn, of course. Do you already have the exact colors you want to use for your project at home? Bring them with you. Would you rather have a wide selection to choose from in the studio (approx. 50 different colors)? For an extra €7.50, you can use our available tufting yarn for one project up to a maximum of 50 × 60 cm.

Using everything? Then you pay €37.00

Do you have tufting experience, but no materials or machine of your own? No problem. For €37, you have a fully equipped tufting station for the entire evening, including frame, fabric, tufting gun, yarn, trimmer, and all available tools.

You bring your design. We have the rest.

What can you do during the Open Tuft Studio?

Basically anything related to your tufting project. For example, you can:

• start a completely new tufting project
• continue working on a rug you've already started at home
• shave and finish an existing tufting piece
• experiment with colors, shapes, or different pile heights

You don't necessarily have to make a new rug. Do you have a half-finished project at home? By all means, bring it with you. Just consider whether you need to bring your own frame as well.

Done tufting, but would you rather do the final finishing at home? Then take the Finish At Home Goodiebag with you for €6.50.

It contains glue and materials to help you continue finishing your tufting project at home. Additionally, you will receive a 10% discount voucher for Tufting Stuff for a future purchase.

Who is the Open Tuft Studio for?

The Open Tuft Studio is intended for people who have tufted before and can work independently with a tufting gun. Perhaps you have previously taken a tufting workshop at Tufting Stuff, learned to tuft elsewhere, or already tuft regularly at home. Where you learned doesn't matter, as long as you can manage the machine on your own.

Is this a tufting workshop?

No, it is not. During the Open Tuft Studio, I do not provide a full tufting workshop, and there is no joint program. Everyone works independently on their own project.

I will be present, of course. If you have a question, your thread isn't feeding properly, or you want to consult about finishing? I am always happy to help. But the Open Tuft Studio is truly intended as an open workshop for tufters who already have some experience.

You book your workstation in advance. This ensures that a frame will be ready for you on December 7th.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to bring my own tufting gun?

No. If you have your own tufting gun, you are welcome to bring it. If you don't have a machine or don't want to bring yours, you can use a tufting gun from the studio for an extra €5.

Do I need to bring my own yarn?

No. You may bring your own tufting yarn, but for an extra €7.50, you can use the available yarn stock at Tufting Stuff for one project up to a maximum of 50 × 60 cm.

Is the tufting fabric included?

Yes. Your basic spot of €24.50 includes tufting fabric for one project of up to 50 × 60 cm.

Can I bring my own project?

Yes, please do! The Open Tuft Studio is also intended for finishing, updating, shaving, or finalizing existing projects. Please consider whether you should bring your own frame as well.

Can I come if I have never tufted before?

No. The Open Tuft Studio is not a beginner's workshop. You must be able to work independently with a tufting gun.

Do I have to stay the whole evening?

No. Your spot is reserved for you from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, but you decide how to manage your evening and when you are finished.
